Muslim armies must respond to occupation

The top British commander in Afghanistan has said the war against the Taliban cannot be won, the Sunday Times reported on 5 October 2008. It quoted Brigadier Mark Carleton-Smith as saying in an interview that if the Taliban were willing to talk, then that might be “precisely the sort of progress” needed to end the insurgency. “We’re not going to win this war. It’s about reducing it to a manageable level of insurgency that’s not a strategic threat and can be managed by the Afghan Army,” he said.

At the same time, a group of Muslim protesters in Indian-administered Kashmir has defied a curfew imposed by the Hindu occupiers to denounce Pakistani President Asif Zardari for saying that Muslims fighting Indian rule in Kashmir were “terrorists” in an interview with America’s Wall Street Journal.
In contrast, the treacherous remarks by Zardari were welcomed warmly by the Indian press, and almost all newspapers put it on the front page. Anan Sharma from India’s Foreign Ministry said that, “This announcement is a departure from the established Pakistani policy of regarding terrorism as Jihad. And this will help in improving relations between the two countries.”

It can be seen how the kuffar are unable to subdue small groups of Muslims in Afghanistan or Kashmir. Despite all their wealth and weapons, they lack men of bravery. What if they were to face an army of Muslims? What if they were to face the unified army of the Khilafah, which would number over three million. However, rather than our rulers mobilizing the army against the kuffar they denounce the Muslims who are fighting as terrorists and demand surrender to the occupiers under the banner of “peace.”

Islam forbids the Muslims from alliance with those who have fought the Muslims and driven them out of their homes. Allah (swt) says,

“Allah forbids you from making friends with those who have fought you on account of your deen, driven you out of your homes and assisted in driving you out. And whosoever allies with them is of the oppressors.” [Surah Mumtahina 60:9]

Moreover, the duty to fight the kuffar does not just fall on the Muslims of Afghanistan and Kashmir but on the armies of the Muslim world. These armies do not just possess millions of soldiers and weapons but possess the most powerful weapon of all, the help of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) says,

“Now Allah has lightened your task for He knows that there is a weakness amongst you, so if there are one hundred patient ones with you, they will overcome two hundred and if there are a thousand with you they will overcome two thousand, by the permission of Allah and Allah is with the patient one.” [Surah Al-Anfal 8:66]
